MS. KHISA BETTY
Head of Prosecutions
Joined the Civil Service as a Pupil State Attorney on 20th of January 1987 and has risen through the ranks of Senior State Attorney (1991), Principal State Attorney (1991) and Senior Principal State Attorney (2002) during which period she was in charge of Extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance.
She was appointed to post of Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions in 2014.
She has worked in various DPP stations including Mbale where she was the Resident Senior State Attorney in charge of the entire Eastern and North Eastern Region and the City Court of Buganda Road as Resident Principal State Attorney in- charge of criminal prosecutions of all cases from CID HQTS, Kampala Central Police Station, Kiira Road and Old Kampala Police Stations.
In the course of the service she has handled several assignments as head of the Department of Field and International Affairs.
She is the Chairperson of the DPP/CIID Coordination Committee which meets quarterly to streamline and enhance Coordination and training for staff of both institutions.
She is the Editor in Chief of the DPP Magazine which is produced annually.
She has represented the Directorate on several committees including the committee responsible for developing the witness protection Bill in Uganda.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Makerere University (1981) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC) in 1984.
She was born in 1957.
