Ms Betty Khisa
Senior Principal State Attorney

Ms. Betty Khisa was born in the Eastern Uganda district of Mbale on the 6th of October 1957.
She is married with 4 children.

Ms. Khisa started school in 1965 at Malukhu Primary School and then in 1972-1977 she was in Tororo Girls School where she obtained both Ordinary and Advanced level certificates.

In 1977 she joined Makerere University Kampala and obtained a law degree in 1981. She joined the Law Development Centre in 1983 and obtained a post graduate diploma in legal practice in 1984. In 1987 she enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court.

Ms. Khisa started work as a pupil State Attorney in 1984 in the Department of Public Prosecutions, Mbale office. She was then confirmed to the post of State Attorney in 1986. She was promoted to Senior State Attorney and after that to Principal State Attorney. She was then on the 12th day of July 2002 promoted to the post of Senior Principal State Attorney which post she holds todate.

Ms. Khisa is currently the officer in charge of the complaints desk of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions. She is also the Component Manager Operational Support under the Netherlands Uganda Support to Public Prosecutions Project.
