Ms. Damalie Nantudde Lwanga

Ms. Damalie Nantudde Lwanga was born on 19/09/61 in the Central Uganda district of Kampala.

She holds a Diploma in Legal Practice, which she obtained from the Law Development Centre, Kampala in 1985. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Degree which she obtained from Makerere University Kampala in 1984.

Ms Lwanga's earlier qualifications include an EAACE Certificate which she obtained from St. Balikuddembe S.S.S.Mitala Maria in 1978 and an EACE Certificate which she obtained from Namasagali College Kamuli in 1981.

She started work as a State Attorney in the Department of Public Prosecutions from 1985-1992, after which she was promoted to Senior State Attorney in 1992. In 1995 she earned herself a further promotion to Principal State Attorney.

Ms. Lwanga is currently the Assistant DPP in charge of Prosecutions. She is also a Member of the Techinical Advisory Committee on the Uganda Police Family Protection Unit, Member of the National Juvenile Justice Committee, Member of the Justice, Law and Order Technical Committee, Member of the DPP-CID Coordination Committee, Member of the DPP Finance Committee and member of the DPP Contracts committee.

Ms. Lwanga has attained other qualifications including the following:
  • Certificate in Introduction to the Criminal justice system in England-1994.
  • Certificate in Introduction to the English legal system-1994.
  • Certificate in Computer Training-1999.
  • Certificate in Training of Trainers-2000.
  • Certificate in Investigation and Prosecution of Economic Crimes 2000.
  • Certificate in using Email and the Internet-2001.
  • Attended the conference on African conventions on Extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance- Cairo Egypt, November 1999.
  • Participated in a Study tour on Juvenile justice in Washington DC, November-December 2000.
  • Attended a Working seminar on Juvenile Justice in Copenhagen, Denmark, December 2001.
